NPP Decides: I don’t need fun fairs to win over delegates - Ing. Addai-Nimoh

Ing. Francis Addai-Nimoh, one of the key contenders in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential elections, is confident of emerging victorious come Saturday, November 4.

In an exclusive interview on Happy 98.9 FM’s “Epa Hoa Daben” socio-political talk show with Bismark Brown, Ing. Addai-Nimoh, shared his insights on campaign strategies and dynamics of reaching out to the extensive pool of delegates.

Addai-Nimoh expressed a pragmatic approach to winning over delegates, emphasizing that he doesn’t believe in extravagant fun fairs and large gatherings as the sole means to secure their support.

He pointed out that with over 200,000 delegates scattered across various constituencies, it’s impractical to bring them all together in a single location. He explained, “There’s not even a space to house them, and you can’t get your message to everyone in one room.”

To address this challenge, Addai-Nimoh and his team have developed communication strategies that have
been in progress over time.

He expressed confidence in the effectiveness of their approach, saying, “We have outlined some strategic communication strategies over the course of the period. We have a lot and I’m confident we’re doing well.”

Addai-Nimoh acknowledged that some of his opponents may opt for different strategies, such as organizing fun fairs, but he stressed that the ultimate goal is to win the delegates’ support, as they are the ones who will cast their votes.

The NPP’s presidential elections are set to take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, with a total of 203,439 delegates participating. This election will determine the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections. The voting will occur in various constituencies across all 16 regions of the country. Notably, 436 delegates will cast their votes at the party’s head office in Asylum Down, Accra.

In the Ashanti Region, 34,987 delegates are expected to vote, with 4,204 delegates in the Ahafo Region, and 39,134 delegates in the Greater Accra Region. The Volta Region will see the participation of 11,990 delegates in this significant political event.

It remains to be seen how Ing. Francis Addai-Nimoh and the other three contenders win the support of these delegates in the race for the NPP’s flagbearer position.
