A number of New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentarians have been voted out in the party’s primaries, ceding the right to contest in the 2020 general elections to newcomers.
At least 9 chairmen and vice chairmen have lost their bids to represent their constituents in Parliament.
Among those who have lost include the Chairman of Parliament’s Finance Committee, Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah who lost the New Juaben South seat to the Executive Secretary of Free Zones, Michael Okyere Baafi.

5. Chairman of Government Assurances Committee – Collins Owusu Amankwaah
6. Chairman of Youth, Sports and Culture Committee – Alex Agyekum
7. Vice Chairman of Food and Agriculture Committee – Abraham Odoom
8. Vice chairman of Roads and Transport Committee – Kofi Brako
9. Vice chairman of Parliament’s Trade and Industry Committee Ato Panford has lost.
Meanwhile, several other MPs including Ahmed Arthur, Nana Akua Afriyie, Vincent Sowah Odotei, Okyem Aboagye, Ama Sey and Kennedy Kankam have also lost their Parliamentary representation.
