The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central, Baba Sadiq Abdulai, has vowed that every seat won by the NDC in the recent elections will be defended in the 9th Parliament.
In a widely circulated video, Baba Sadiq condemned the Electoral Commission’s (EC) re-collation process, which reversed several NDC victories, and declared that no force could prevent duly elected NDC MPs from being sworn in.
He asserted that on January 5, 2025, no authority in Ghana, including the Inspector General of Police, could obstruct their swearing-in as Members of Parliament.
“On December 6 or 5, not even the IGP, not even the CDS, not even Nana Addo. If Jean Mensa is minded, she herself will step down in Parliament on the 5th or on the 6th. We won the elections credibly,” he said.
Baba Sadiq specifically addressed constituencies such as Dome Kwabenya, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Obuasi East, where re-collation exercises shifted the results in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He warned Afenyo Markin that any attempt to secure his position as Minority Leader through such actions would fail.
He emphasized that NDC members are not intimidated, proclaiming that the party’s revolutionary spirit remains unbroken, with a strong resolve to uphold democracy beginning on January 5.
