Normalization Committee in search for Bashir Hayford’s replacement

The Normalization Committee of the GFA are currently looking for someone to handle the senior women’s team, the Black Queens, ahead of their WAFU title defense in Ivory Coast and the upcoming All African Games later this year in Morocco.

Coach Bashir Hayford resigned from his position after he was severely criticized for failing to qualify Ghana -host nation- to the semi-final of the 2018 Africa Women’s Championship.

With just two months to the next Black Queens competition, the Normalization Committee would have to find a good replacement to handle the team and hopefully defend the title come May in Ivory Coast

Speaking to Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM‘s ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports‘, Lawyer Odofoley confirmed that they are looking for a replacement for Bashir

“As for now, no one has been appointed as the Black Queens head coach. But I am sure in the coming weeks, an announcement will be made,” she stated.

Former Black Queens coach, Bashiru Hayford, is in Mogadishu negotiating to become the national team coach of Somalia.

The trainer travelled to Somalia on Sunday and has been locked in discussions with the country’s football federation.
