Non-Profit MYO Global’s Mentoring Drive partners with GIMPA

Professor Douglas Boateng, Founder of My-future Your-future Our-future (MYO) Global, has partnered with the Ghana Institute for Management and Public Administration’s Department of Management Science for its Mentoring Drive to mentor and train students in the area of Supply Chain Management as professionals.

At the meeting held amongst stakeholders, Prof. Boateng brought to light the inspiration behind his authoring of his premium books meant to be the main tools to be used during the process of mentoring and training of the students.

In his speech he stated “the Compendium of Supply Chain Management Terms was done because of corporate Executives and as such, the top 50 executives and CEO’S have a copy of it. The book was inspired by some businessmen especially in South Africa who wanted a quick reference to some definition of terms at meetings. Hence, it led me to put together such a reference material to be used as a guide. Electronically, it is also made available on Google play store and Apple app store. A French version has also been translated”.

Professor Boateng went on to explain why GIMPA was chosen as an institution for such a laudable initiative and he went on to say, “GIMPA is an institution focused on Management and Public Administration for a purpose. In Africa, the public sector is very weak and if we want to improve public sector Administration, we have to look at certain things that drives economic developmental agenda and some of these things is Supply Chain Management and Procurement”.

The librarian of GIMPA, Mr. Adolf Agbeh, also emphasised the importance of this mentoring initiative and the role the library plays in it “Information literacy skills is needed for everybody and the library helps in promoting this. it is our role to acquire the information, process it and store it to disseminate it for everybody who comes looking for it”.
