No man with kids will make you a priority – Woman advises

Broadcast journalist Nana Adwoa Annan has explained why in her opinion, it is not advisable to be in a serious relationship with a man who already has children with another woman.

Discussing ‘The good and bad side of dating a man with children’ on eTV Ghana’s girl talk show ‘Girl Vibes’, with host, Mercy Bee the Ekumfi Princess, she stated that a woman, when in a relationship with a man who is already a father will never be a priority in the relationship or marriage.

Although she confessed that she has never been in such a relationship, she mentioned that she almost got involved in one at a point but backed out as soon as the man told her that he had three children and that they lived with their mother.

She said, “With this topic, there are two things; if the mother of the children is dead, that’s a different story and if she’s alive, that’s a different story as well. If the woman is dead, I know that the kids are with me, I’m the one raising them and they are a part of me.

My principles and rules are governing them so there is no third party that they will visit once a while who will ask them how I’m treating them, what I’ve been telling them and various things to turn them against me”.

Nana Adwoa commented that when a man has children living with their mother, at any point, he may want to spend time with his kids and she (the new woman) might not even be a part of it.

Per this, she concluded that being in a relationship with a man who already has children with another woman is not something she would do or advice, however, for those who want to, she noted that it requires a lot of consideration. “If you have a big heart, then you can get into it”, Nana Adwoa further added.
