Happy FM’s highly anticipated cooking event, Salah Food Fest cooking competition continued on June 22nd, with Nima hosting the third and final preliminary round.
The Nima Market was filled with excitement as residents and contestants gathered to witness a display of culinary talent.
The event was not just about cooking, but educative and fun activities like spin-the-wheel, dance battles, and musical chairs to keep the energy high.
Three Sisters from Nima, Royals from Mamobi, and Isha Allah from Fadama emerged winners to represent their communities in the grand finale against 7 other finalists.
The judges had a tough time deciding, but ultimately chose these teams because they each excelled at presenting tasteful and exquisite cuisines.
The Happy FM Salah Food Fest goes beyond just a competition. “It’s a celebration of Zongo cuisine, fostering cultural understanding and community spirit. The festival highlights the unique culinary traditions of these communities and their valuable contribution to Ghana’s food scene,” stated Programmes Manager of Happy 98.9 FM, Kwabena Ampong.
Unfortunately all teams did not make the final cut, but they received certificates and prizes from sponsors from Fortune Rice, Fortune Spread, Frytol, Chocho Industries, Nkulenu and Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix, Tasty Tom Jollof Mix to show appreciation for their efforts.
Kwabena Ampong, expressed his sincere gratitude to the sponsors of Salah Fest 2024 and reiterated the mission of this initiative , “we’re thrilled to see the Salah Food Fest grow into a beloved celebration of Zongo cuisine and cultural exchange.
