Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has launced the National Health Insurance Authority TeleHealth Service Application (NeHSA) pilot to improve digital healthcare services.
According to him, the initiative would enhance access to health care services remotely.
“The Telehealth initiative will enhance remote access to health services. With access to your vitals and records, diagnosis and prescriptions and specialist care can be rendered”.
He mentioned that, the platform would offer variety of healthcare services to all irrespective of your location, whether international or in a rural environment.
He added that, the Telehealth initiative will save time, money and resources. One can access international telehealth services as well as it is not limited to Ghana”.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of digitalization in the country’s health sector, which according to him, would help improve healthcare delivery in the country.
The TeleHealth Service Application (NeHSA) would provide access to medical consultations, diagnosis, prescriptions and other essential healthcare services directly to users without visiting the hospital.
The platform would also reduce cost in traveling to and fro the hospital whilst effectively providing it services.
