The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has disbursed GH¢270 million to healthcare providers nationwide, covering claims submitted and vetted up to October 2024 and part of November 2024.
According to a statement issued on January 3, 2025, this payment aligns with the agreed three-month reimbursement period, with no outstanding vetted claims currently pending.
Over the past four months, the NHIA has released more than GH¢1.2 billion, highlighting its commitment to supporting healthcare providers. The prompt payment system introduced earlier in 2024 has been instrumental in keeping the Authority debt-free and ensuring timely reimbursements across the country.
The NHIA also urged healthcare facilities to submit their claims within the 90-day window to enable efficient processing and timely payments.
