NDC's 'No Fee Stress' policy to remove financial barriers for public tertiary students- Joyce Bawah Mogtari

Special Aide NDC Flag bearer John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has emphasized that the NDC’s “No Fee Stress” (NFS) policy is aimed at ensuring all students who qualify and gain admission into public tertiary institutions can do so without the immediate burden of paying admission fees.

She highlighted that many Ghanaians have missed the opportunity to enroll for tertiary education due to the inability to pay admission fees, especially since student loans often take time to process.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, August 22, 2024, she stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is confident that allocating 275 million cedis to support first-year students is both feasible and within the country’s financial means.

Additionally, she noted that the policy also includes provisions for second-year students who may still face financial challenges. These students will be enrolled in the SLTF+ program, which ensures equity by providing loans to those who genuinely need financial assistance.

She revealed that the ultimate goal of the “No Fee Stress” policy is to expand access to tertiary education, encouraging more students to pursue higher education and contribute to the development of the nation’s knowledge base.
