NDC youth condemns attack on members in Ahafo Region

Fixing the Country Movement and Patriotic Troopers Plan counter-demonstration against NDC

The National Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly condemned what it describes as an unprovoked attack on its members by thugs allegedly affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The incident occurred on September 7, 2024, and involved a raid on the home of the former NDC Constituency Chairperson in an undisclosed area, where the Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer, Masawudu Suleman, was also assaulted.

In a press statement signed on Monday September 9, 2024, NDC National Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo, the party accused the NPP of weaponizing violence out of fear of losing the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections.

He emphasized that these attacks are part of a broader strategy by the ruling party to intimidate opposition members.

The NDC Youth Wing has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Ahafo Regional Police to arrest the culprits responsible for the attack. They warned that failure to do so would lead to a strong retaliation.

The statement called on NDC youth across the country to remain vigilant and ready to defend themselves against any aggression from the ruling party or its affiliates.
