The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended its Central Regional Chairman, Prof Richard Kofi Asiedu, and Assin Central Constituency Secretary, Sadique Broni Yeboah, for one month due to alleged anti-party behavior.
This decision was made after a joint meeting between the party’s national executives, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC), and Assin Central executives, who deemed the suspension necessary to address the conduct of the two officials.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rescinded its decision to withdraw Nurein Shiabu Migyimah as the party’s parliamentary candidate for Assin Central, following allegations of immoral conduct and anti-party activities.
The decision to reinstate Migyimah was made at a meeting on Tuesday, July 2 at the party’s headquarters in Accra, according to a statement by General Secretary Fifi Kwetey. The statement declared that the earlier letter announcing Migyimah’s withdrawal and suspension was “null and void” and has been withdrawn.
Migyimah had been accused of impregnating the wife of the party’s Assin Central General Secretary, leading to his initial suspension by the NDC’s Central Regional Functional Executive Committee.
On Tuesday, July 2, the NDC General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, issued a statement following the meeting at the party’s Accra headquarters, declaring that the decision to withdraw Nurein Shiabu Migyimah’s candidacy and suspend his membership was invalid and has been rescinded. The statement nullified the earlier letter from the Central Region NDC Secretariat, effectively reinstating Migyimah as the Assin Central parliamentary candidate.
Therefore, Nurein Shiabu Migyimah will continue to represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the parliamentary candidate for the Assin Central constituency in the forthcoming general elections, scheduled for December 2024.
