Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has refuted the claim that all politicians are the same.
According to him, while some politicians are dishonest, others are truthful. He explained that some engage in deceit, while others are forthright, telling things as they are.
During a community engagement at Odumase in the Sunyani East Constituency of the Bono Region, Mr. Mahama stressed that the NDC is not a party of liars. He emphasized that they do not make promises they cannot fulfill just to gain power, but instead, they are committed to telling the truth.
He noted that when the NDC makes a promise, they follow through on it. He assured the public that the NDC would not make unrealistic promises such as building a factory in every location, providing a dam for every village, or offering every child an egg each morning. He also criticized promises like allocating one million dollars to every constituency when there is no intention to deliver on them.
Highlighting the NDC’s track record, he pointed out that the development of electricity and other infrastructure projects in Odumase happened under the NDC’s leadership. He stressed that the NDC does not discriminate, stating that the party doesn’t withhold development from areas that didn’t vote for them, unlike others who may neglect regions based on voting patterns.
Mr. Mahama called for change, arguing that the country is in dire need of a leader with experience. He asserted that Ghana doesn’t need someone asking for an opportunity to be tested but rather someone who has successfully led the country before and can steer it toward progress.
