NDC pushes for forensic audit of voters register in collaborative meeting with CSOs

Director of Inter-Party and CSO Relations for the opposition NDC, Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, has stated that the NDC has decided to engage civil society organizations, other groups, and individuals because previous attempts to address their concerns through backdoor channels have not been fruitful.

In a welcome address at the NDC’s meeting with CSOs, labor unions, and religious leaders in Accra on September 23, 2024, he explained that after initially reaching out to the Electoral Commission with their findings, they had hoped for corrective action, but their efforts went unrecognized.

Dr.Boamah Otokunor emphasized that following the “Enough Is Enough” demonstration, there is a pressing need to disclose some of the issues they uncovered, which have led to public concern. He stressed that the gathering aims to provide direct insight into the revelations shared with the EC prior to the demonstration.

He expressed gratitude to all who participated in their protest advocating for a forensic audit of the voters’ register.
