NDC promises to establish college of Education at Afram Plains

The member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak has stated that the NDC will establish Teacher Training college at Afram Plains in the next NDC administration.

According to him, there is a challenge of acute professional Teachers shortage in that enclave and the only way to address that challenge is establish College of Education in that jurisdiction.

Delivering a keynote address at NDC 2024 manifesto Sectoral press briefing on August 27, 2024, the member of parliament also said Teachers who accept postings to rural and underserved communities will receive special allowance of 20% on basic salary.

Adding that, the NDC will go further to abolish the Teacher Licensure examination and integrate the licensure process into the final year examination of trainees whiles they still in School.

Above all, NPP mandatory national service scheme will be scrapped for teacher trainee graduates and restore the automatic employment of newly qualified teachers.

In other words, the NDC will partner with Teacher unions to initiate government assisted mortgage scheme to support Teachers to own their own houses, flexible duty payment will also be offered to Teachers to own their vehicles of their choice.

“John Dramani Mahama has a proven record in the area of Education and can be trusted to deliver on these and many other promises and therefore Ghanaians should vote for Mahama to ensure that every Ghanaian child gets qualify education “.
