The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nkwanta-South Constituency has issued an unreserved apology to three Indian Catholic priests and the Jasikan Diocese of the Catholic Church following an assault by some youth in Nkwanta.
In a statement signed by the NDC Constituency Secretary, Prince Succeed Fiagadzi, the party expressed deep regret and sorrow over the incident, which occurred around 9 a.m. last Wednesday.
They described the attack as unacceptable and extended apologies for the harm, trauma, and distress caused to the victims.
The statement clarified that the assaulted individuals were Catholic priests who had no involvement in the alleged theft of machines and equipment that sparked the incident. Instead, they were on their way to a project site. The NDC leadership offered their heartfelt apologies to the priests and the entire Catholic community.
