The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked Ghanaians to take Mahama’s promises tonight with a pinch of salt as they state that the ex-president has a track record of not fulfilling his promises to Ghanaians.
The National Democratic Congress is set to outdoor its manifesto dubbed ‘The People’s Manifesto’ this evening.
However, the Deputy Campaign Manager in charge of Communications at the NPP, Mustapha Hamid, has said of the promises yet to be made: “Mahama is no keeper of campaign promises. Whatever Mahama is seeking to promise this evening will come to nothing”.
Backing up his point, he further outlined many of the 2012 and 2016 promises of the NDC that had not been fulfilled.
“In their 2012 manifesto, they said 1) they were going to achieve average GDP growth of at least 8 percent per annum. They failed. 2)Achieve a single-digit rate of inflation, they failed”, part of his statement highlighted.
Comparing ex-president Mahama to President Akufo-Addo, Mustapha Hamid noted that the current president has proven that he is committed to fulfilling his promises while the ex-president is “clueless” when it comes to the fulfilment of promises.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), will today, Monday, September 7, 2020, launch its manifesto for the upcoming December 2020 elections.
