The General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has expressed confidence in measures put in place by security forces to ensure smooth elections.

Speaking during the National Election Security Taskforce meeting with leaders of political parties, he highlighted the clear communication channels established from the top down to the constituency level, which would allow for immediate clarifications in case of any issues during the election period.

He emphasized the platform for resolution that has been laid out, ensuring that key political parties, members of the Security Task Force, and the Electoral Commission can be brought together quickly when necessary. He commended the security arrangements, noting that the NDC is satisfied with the assurances provided. He added that the party’s executives would be actively involved in ensuring that their members adhere to instructions before, during, and after the elections.

He also pointed to the role of the Security Task Force, specifically in monitoring police stations and coalition centers to maintain order. Reflecting on previous election cycles, he expressed hope that the peaceful and coordinated efforts seen before would be replicated, ensuring that the will of the people prevails.

He reiterated the party’s commitment to working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a free and fair election process expressing optimism that the assurances given by the National Election Security Taskforce would translate into a successful and transparent election.
