The National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey has lambasted the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nations Builders Corps (NABCO) program, describing it as a “scam” and a mere vote-winning tactic. Speaking during the launch of the party’s youth manifesto on Monday August 12, 2024, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Auditorium Fifi Kwetey argued that while all political parties develop policies ahead of elections, a closer examination of the NPP’s policies reveals a focus on vote-garnering rather than problem-solving. He specifically highlighted NABCO, introduced by the NPP to create employment for young people, as a prime example of this approach. Kwetey labeled NABCO as a “419” scheme designed to deceive young voters into supporting the NPP.
In contrast, Kwetey emphasized that the NDC’s policies ahead of the 2024 December elections, will offer Ghanaians hope and create employment opportunities, particularly for the youth. He assured that the NDC’s policies will restore Ghanaians’ hope, address economic challenges created by the NPP government, and provide solutions to pressing problems.
The NDC’s approach, Kwetey stressed, prioritizes the welfare and development of Ghana’s youth, unlike the NPP’s perceived vote-winning gimmicks.
