The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its congratulations to Donald J. Trump on his recent victory in the U.S. presidential election, marking his return to the White House following his 2020 loss to Joe Biden.
In a statement released on Wednesday, NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey characterized Trump’s win as a favorable sign for the NDC, especially with Ghana’s own presidential election set for December 7, 2024.
Fifi Kwetey highlighted similarities between the U.S. election and Ghana’s upcoming polls, suggesting that, like American voters who opted for experienced leadership, Ghanaians are likely to turn away from the current government’s record of “insensitivity, corruption, and economic mismanagement.”
He reaffirmed the NDC’s dedication to bringing “stability, integrity, and renewed hope” to Ghana, presenting the party as the strong alternative for voters desiring change in the nation’s political direction.
