NDC calls for urgent meeting with Electoral Commission over voters' exhibition concerns

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has formally requested an emergency meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to address pressing concerns regarding the ongoing voters’ exhibition exercise.

In a letter signed by General Secretary Fifi Kwetey, the NDC highlighted “very serious discrepancies” uncovered during the exercise, which necessitate immediate attention. The party’s analysis of the provisional voter register revealed numerous issues, prompting the request for a meeting to resolve these problems swiftly.

The voters’ exhibition exercise, which began on August 20 and is scheduled to conclude on August 27, has raised significant concerns that the NDC seeks to discuss with the EC urgently.

Below is the NDC’s full letter.

REQUEST FOR AN IMPORTANT EMERGENCY MEETING WITH YOUR TEAM OVER THE 2024 VOTER EXHIBITION EXERCISE

We bring you greetings from the NDC Party Headquarters, Accra and trust that this letter finds you well.

We write to request an important emergency meeting with you and your team to discuss very serious discrepancies discovered during the ongoing 2024 voter exhibition exercise. The discrepancies emanate from analysis of the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) given to us by the Commission, and registers being exhibited at the centres.

We anticipate a favourable and timely response as we work towards free, fair and transparent elections.
