The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the Electoral Commission to as a matter of urgency call for an emergency Inter- Party Advisory Committee meeting today.

According to the NDC, the EC should also halt the recollation of the remaining Eastern Regional parliamentary results currently ongoing at the National Police Training School in Tesano.

The Party in a statement on Friday December 13, mentioned that, the ongoing exercise is deeply troubling and appears to be conducted in what they termed “bad faith”.

“The manner the exercise is being carried out is a recipe for electoral chaos and malpractice. Such actions have the potential to erode public trust in the Electoral Commission, fuel tensions, and destabilize the peace and cohesion of our nation. At this critical juncture, it is essential that the Electoral Commission acts in a manner that ensures the sanctity of the electoral process and the confidence of all stakeholders.”

“We believe that the best way forward is to convene an emergency IPAC meeting today to discuss this matter comprehensively and ensure that any steps taken by the Commission are guided by the principles of legality, fairness, and consensus”.
