EC to release Revised Provisional Voters Register in two weeks, refutes NDC timeline claims

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has agreed to the Electoral Commission’s (EC) commitment to release the updated 2024 Provisional Voters Register to political parties for review within a week.

This decision comes after an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday October 1, where the NDC called for a forensic audit of the voter register.

The NDC also welcomed the EC’s plan to re-exhibit the updated Provisional Voters Register.

In a statement issued by General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party suggested that the re-exhibition should take place both online and offline at exhibition centres.

Additionally, the NDC called for a thorough examination of the EC’s IT system by multi-party stakeholders and political parties. The party highlighted concerns about vulnerabilities in the system, which could be exploited by criminals to undermine the integrity of the December 2024 elections if not resolved.
