National Peace Council is putting strategies in place for NDC to sign Peace Pact- National Peace Council Board Member

Board Member of the National Peace Council, Joana Opare has stated that the Council has put strategies in place to mediate between the political parties to reach an agreement for the signing of the Peace Pact.

According to her, the demands from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a new thing that the Council is looking at

She further explained that the processes of engaging political Parties and other stakeholders has just begun and the Council will use their Offices in line with their mandate to do what is right for Ghana to continue to live in peace.

She said the Peace Council does a lot of work at the background by collaborating with security agencies to ensure there is peace in country

“Even before the NDC position not to sign the peace pact, the Peace Council had engaged the Political Parties several times to address issues that could jeopardize our country especially before, during and after elections”.
