National Elections Security Taskforce introduces Informant reward system ahead of December 7 elections

Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo- Dampare has announced that the police security taskforce is working across the country with enough intelligence officers.

According to him, the taskforce has deployed enough intelligence officers all over the country who are monitoring everything and feeding the taskforce with information to act on.

Speaking at a stakeholder meeting between leadership of the University Teachers Association of Ghana and the National Elections Security Taskforce, IGP Dampare announced that, the taskforce has instituted an informant reward system which will reward informants who feed them with information.

He mentioned that, the information fed will be adequately investigated and informants would be greatly rewarded with cash ranging from GHc1000 to GHc20,000.

‘’We are therefore instituting a reward informant system in connection with the elections. The system is such that, anybody with any information who wants to share with us. That person is free to share with us. The arrangement is simple, you can visit any of the security offices. In addition we will price out our informant reward system and the figures associated is between GHc 1000 to GHc20,000. If you bring the information, we operationalize it.’’
