NAPO pledges to support Bawumia in historic 'Break the 8' bid

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in winning the upcoming 2024 general elections as his running mate.

This comes after the NPP’s National Council officially endorsed Dr. Opoku Prempeh as the party’s running mate on Thursday, July 4, solidifying his position alongside Dr. Bawumia on the presidential ticket. With this endorsement, NAPO has pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the party’s victory in the 2024 polls.

In his acceptance statement on July 4, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) vowed to dedicate himself to supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in effectively communicating his transformative campaign message, aimed at breaking the 8-year political cycle and securing a resounding victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.

The Energy Minister acknowledged his nomination as running mate, recognizing the immense responsibility that comes with this position and pledging to work tirelessly to support Dr. Bawumia’s vision for Ghana’s future.

NAPO pledged to forge a strong partnership with Dr. Bawumia, harnessing their combined expertise and strengths to secure a landslide victory for the New Patriotic Party and a successful re-election bid for the presidency. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, the national council, party executives, and party members for their unwavering support and trust in him, acknowledging the honor and responsibility that comes with this nomination.

“I understand that the task ahead requires our collective effort, and I, therefore, plead with every party member to come on board as we seek the mandate of our countrymen and women once again to serve them. As I assume the role of running mate alongside my esteemed boss, H.E. Dr Bawumia, I am committed to supporting him to prosecute a formidable 2024 campaign to break the 8-year election cycle and serve our beloved country diligently.
