Luis Nani has officially announced his retirement from Football at 38.
The former Manchester United and Portugal legend has now hanged his boot from the football fraternity.
Nani began his football career at Sporting CP in Portugal.
He extended his career to other football clubs like Manchester United, Fenerbache, Valencia, Lazio, Orlando City and Melbourne Victory and finally ended at Estrela Amadora at Premeira Liga side.
Nani made his successful period in football at Manchester United where he won four Premier League titles, the Champions League and Club world cup.
On the National side, he captained the Portuguese and won the 2016 Euro cup after beating France with the early withdrawal of Cristiano Ronaldo due to injury.
Nani became the fifth Selecao’s most-capped player after representing the Portuguese in five major tournaments. He also made 112 international appearances between 2006 and 2017.
Luis Carlos Almeida Cunha’ Facebook post read, “the time has come to say goodbye, i have decided to finish my career as a professional player”.
It’s been an amazing ride and I wanted to thank every single person who has helped me and supported me through the highs and lows during a football career which lasted over 20 years and gave me so many unforgettable memories.
