Lawyer Abraham Amaliba, a private legal practitioner and a member of Sammy Gyamfi’s legal team has disclosed that the National Communications Director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi was reported to the police by the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante on two charges.

In an interview with Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, he stated:Sammy Gyamfi was charged on two offences that is possession of forged documents and publishing of false news with the intent to cause fear and panic.
The Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante reported that he [Sammy Gyamfi] has published a document on his Facebook wall that is not from his office”.

He furthered that the people behind the arrest of Sammy Gyamfi could be cited for contempt of court as there has been an application in court that does not allow for the arrest of Sammy Gyamfi. “On the 8th we will go to court to move the application”, he added.

The National Communications Director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi was picked up by the BNI earlier today but has been granted bail on the condition that he hands over his phone to the police and appears before the police every Monday.
