The Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Richard Ahiagbah, has said that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo must be commended for picking the economy “from the mud”.

He made these statements in an interview on the Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show.
“We have come far as a country. When NDC was in power, Ghana’s monetary issue was bad. It was as though we were dependent on others.

Our problem as a country is that we are not able to keep our wealth in the country and we heavily rely on export. But with the policies of NPP such as the One District, One Factory, we are doing away with this problem”, he said.
According to him, the previous government plunged the economy into the mud by causing the increase in youth unemployment and canceling the allowances of nurses and teachers.

He also expressed his confidence that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will win the 2020 general elections.
“Ghanaians have seen what we have done. On the basis of our achievements, I am confident that Ghanaians who are objective will vote for Nana Addo”, he said.

He noted that the incumbent government has introduced policies that will help stabilize the economy. He cited the One District, One Factory policy and the introduction of ambulances as policies that will benefit every Ghanaian.
