The Western Regional Minister and the Ghana Police Service, barely two days after the missing pregnant woman in Takoradi was found, have shared new information that suggests that the 29-year-old Josephine Panyin Mensah faked her pregnancy and kidnap.
This new revelation has, however, been refuted by family members and neighbours of the victim.

In a recent interview on the Happy Morning Show, twin brother of the victim, Joseph Kakra Mensah argued that his sister was pregnant based on some signs he noticed before and after the kidnap.
For example, he explained to Samuel Eshun that prior to her kidnap, his sister supported her back and waist with her hand probably due to back pains caused by the pregnancy.
When questioned by Fati Shaibu Ali if his sister had started producing breast milk after delivery, he answered in the affirmative, stating, “My sister had swollen breasts when she came back indicating the production of breast milk”.
The Western Regional Minister, Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah disclosed that a preliminary observation by a doctor on the 28-year-old pregnant woman who got missing last week in Takoradi and was found in Axim has shown that she was not pregnant.
Subsequently, the Regional Minister has asked the police to investigate the woman, husband and the mother.
