My performance at 25th TGMA was not my best – King Promise admits

Ghanaian Afrobeats superstar, King Promise has agreed with fans’ negative remarks regarding his performance at the recently held Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

King Promise, scheduled as the TGMAs opening act, disappointed many of his fans who assessed the performance from a number of perspectives. These included sound, stage props and even attire.

The talented singer in an interview with Ghanaian YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon rated the rendition as one of his not so good performances. He highlighted stress from a three day rehearsal prior to the show as major factor for his subpar performance. “It was not one of my best; we put a lot hard work in there, we did three nights of rehearsals but there was an issue with sound as well. I could barely hear myself when I was singing.” he said.

The Paris hitmaker indicated that his team had approved a good sound for his performance and could only term the occurrence as a mishap from the sound engineers.

Despite the mishap, King Promise remained confident in his abilities, indicating that it could happen to the greatest musicians. “These things do happen; I am not the first person this has happened to; a whole Beyonce it happened to her. But everyone who knows me knows that I have it; not to bluff though but I can really sing and you can’t judge my singing abilities off a mishap.”
