Kwaku Agyemang-Manu (MP) had been receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Center in Accra and is said to be in “stable condition” after testing positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
The Dormaa Central MP was reportedly admitted on Tuesday, a few weeks after he was elected to serve on a 34-member of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The legislator is contesting unopposed in the Dormaa Central Constituency ahead of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries slated for June 20.
This also comes amid calls from the Minority in Parliament to shutdown the House.
Leadership in Parliament had expressed frustration and helpless after some MPs and staff who tested positive for the virus still frequent the House.
The Speaker, Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye had also directed another Covid-19 testing for the lawmakers in the coming days.
