Moses Armah anticipates tough road ahead of Medeama's 2023/24 CAF Champions League campaign

Moses Armah, President of Medeama, has conceded that the challenges looming in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League are considerably tougher than their previous encounters in the preliminary rounds. Notably, medeama have etched their name into Ghanaian football history as the first team to grace the group stage of Africa’s premier club competition in over a decade, following in the footsteps of Berekum Chelsea’s 2012 feat.

Medeama’s arduous journey to this juncture culminated in a thrilling second preliminary round victory over Guinean giants Horoya, with a 4-3 aggregate score. Armah emphasized that their progression was far from effortless, and he was keen to underline the immense challenge that awaits them in the group stage, where they will encounter some of the continent’s football powerhouses.

“Securing our qualification was no walk in the park, and we want to stress that it was an uphill battle. However, we are fully aware that the road ahead is strewn with even more formidable obstacles, as we are set to face the giants of African club football in the group stage,” remarked Armah. He further added, “Consequently, we humbly appeal for unwavering support from all quarters to ensure our Champions League journey is crowned with success.”
