Movement for Responsible & Accountable Governance (MoRAG), has called on the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin to establish an independent body of inquiry to investigate allegations of assault and brutality at the hands of National Security operatives leveled by Citi FM journalist, Caleb Kudah.

According to the Group, it is concerned that police brutality against journalists and the wider public is on the increase and being perpetrated with impunity “the alleged brutality by the National Security personnel against the Caleb Kudah was inhuman, uncharacterized of modern-day policing.”

In a press statement MoRAG signed by its Executive Director, Emmanuel Owusu explained their demand for an independent body of inquiry.“The committee should extend its investigation to cover all brutalities by the National Security Ministry and other security agencies like National Intelligence Bureau, formerly BNI.

It is our opinion that such investigation by Parliament would help repair the damage caused by the National Security Ministry against the fundamental human of citizens and improve public confidence instate institutions in delivering justice in such situations.”
