Monitoring and Evaluation Ministry is a useless Ministry – Lawyer Maurice Ampaw

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has stated that the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation which is tasked with the responsibility of monitoring issues such as corruption has failed and is one of the most useless ministries in Ghana.

In an interview with Nana Afrifa Mensah on the “Epahoa Daben” show, he stated: “The Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation is a useless ministry .We have to see direct benefits from the ministry However, that is not so.”

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw was speaking in connection with the president’s statement that he does not clear people of corruption charges. The president was addressing the 2019 Ghana Bar Association conference in Takoradi when he said: “If an appointee is cleared of any wrongdoing, the evidence adduced and recommendations made by these agencies, after the investigations are concluded, are what clear the accused persons, not myself. None of these agencies has ever indicated any pressure from the Executive over their investigation”.
