The National Secretary of Mobile Money Advocacy group Ghana (MoMAG), Amoako Atta has called on Ghana Police service to pay attention to the mobile money industry to ensure smooth operation of their business.

According to Mr. Amoako Atta, their operation contributes to the economic development of the country by complementing the work of the banks.

In an interview with Happy Kasiebo, the secretary indicated that the association had petitioned IGP to strengthen security measures for mobile money operation and pay attention to operators or vendors.

“Police visibility within our communities especially where mobile money operation takes place will provide some security for us in carrying out our operations”.

However, he advised the mobile money operators to align themselves with associations within the mobile money industry in order to get security tips and training they organized for their members through workshops and training.

His comments come after a 27 year old momo vendor was robbed and shot dead at Krofrom in the Ashanti Region.

He expressed his heartfelt condolence to the affected family for losing their loved one.
