The Mobile Money Advocacy Group Ghana has called on President elect, John Dramani Mahama to scrap E-Levy in his first three months in office.
According to them, E-Levy has been an albatross on the neck of mobile money agents, momo users and the general public.
In an interview with Happy Kasiɛbɔ the National secretary of MOMAG, Amoako Atta Kingsley noted that they are looking forward to working with John Dramani Mahama when he fully assumes office to promote the interest of the Mobile Money industry in Ghana.
“As John Mahama promised to scrap E-Levy within the first 120 days in his administration during his campaign ahead of the election, we expect him to even scrap it within the first three months after assuming office.”
However, we extend our warmest congratulations to John Mahama of his landslide victory in the 2024 Presidential election.
“We welcome him and assure him of our unflinching support in promoting the growth and the development of Ghana’s mobile money ecosystem and believe his leadership will bring significant benefits to the industry and the country as a whole”, he stated.
