Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign, has mocked former President John Mahama’s proposal to create a television station dedicated to the creative arts sector.
In a post on Facebook on November 13, Miracles, compared the two leaders’ approaches, arguing that Dr. Bawumia’s vision is more progressive and accessible.
“Simple decision making for creative art players; Dr. Bawumia: Mobile App (convenience, unrestricted access); John Mahama: TV Station” his post read.
Mr. Aboagye argues that Dr. Bawumia’s focus on mobile technology, offering broader and more accessible content, presents a more forward-looking solution than Mahama’s proposal for a traditional TV station.
This viewpoint feeds into a larger political discussion on effective ways to support Ghana’s creative arts sector.
Miracles Aboagye’s critique follows Mahama’s recent announcement in the Ashanti region, where he proposed a dedicated TV channel to boost opportunities for creative arts professionals.
