The Minority in Parliament has urged Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to engage with the media rather than debating the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama.

Despite Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s appeal for Mr. Mahama to accept the debate offer, the 2024 Mahama Campaign Team has declined, arguing there’s no need for a debate on economic issues and that Mahama can effectively communicate his message without it.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, MP for Ayawaso North, Yussif Jajah suggested that Dr. Bawumia should first address questions from the media before any debate with Mr. Mahama is considered. He emphasized that Mr. Mahama had already engaged with the media, so Dr. Bawumia should face that challenge first.
