The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has sworn in the governing council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Speaking at the swearing in ceremony, the Minister charged members of the council to provide leadership that would establish and strengthen the appropriate organizational structures and systems in the school.
“Place your expertise and experiences in diverse fields at the disposal of the university to effectively and efficiently manage the limited resources to fulfill its vision for the good of Ghana”
The 14 member council was urged to uphold the unique standards of the school and keep on playing a major role in promoting Science and Technology education in the country.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh added that, “KNUST has tried to draw attention to several important issues of relevance to socio-economic development through various activities including research. In doing so, it has played a major role in promoting science and technology education: Human Biology, Pharmacy, Engineering, Agriculture, Architecture, Settlement planning and land administration”.
The Minister thanked the members of the council for accepting to serve the country and advised them to uphold their proven sense of duty and integrity.
