Mercy Social Center receives support from Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Park

Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Park has fulfilled its promise of donating a quarter (25%) of all proceeds from the annually held Fun Fun Run and Walk to Mercy Social Center to support the welfare of children under their care.

The annual Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run and Walk is a 6KM and 10KM event held on March 6 each year to celebrate Ghana’s independence day and most importantly, generate funds to support the Mercy Social Centre.

HappyFM/ Lakeside Marina Park donated to items worth thousands of cedis to the Mercy Social Centre(MSC)at Lakeside Estate.

Food items, toiletries, packs of drinks and water, and a variety of items were presented to the orphans. Additionally, generous contributions from sponsors such as Twellium Industries (Verna Water) and Everpack (paper products) have further boosted the fundraising efforts.

In a show of support for the event and its cause, the Kalmoni Foundation also donated sports gear and provided a training coach to support the award-winning top Junior Running School Team.

“We are thrilled to see the Lakeside Estate community come together for such a meaningful cause.“ The Family Fun Run is not just about promoting health and fitness but also about making a positive impact in the lives of the less privileged,” Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Director of Lakeside Estates motioned.

Kwabena Ampong, Programmes Manager of Happy 98.9 FM applauded participants of the run and sponsors for coming together to support such a worthy cause.
“A big thank you to all runners and our sponsors for making this happen. We know next year will be bigger and better,” he stated.

The 14th Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run and Walk was sponsored by Blueskies, Japan Motors, Lakeside Estate, Silver Star Auto, Silver Bird Cinemas and Everpak Ghana Ltd, Zen fusion, Silver Star Tower Ltd, Oman Fofor, Verna / Twellium, McVities,  Melcom Ghana Ltd., Cocoa Processing Company and Dosh Insurance.
