To commemorate 30 years of retail success in Ghana, Melcom has launched a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in a bid to give back to the Ghanaian society.

The Director of Communications Godwin Avenorgbo in his speech during the launch said two key pillars to consider for national development are Education and health.

‘’ You are already aware that the two pillars that we consider as key to the national development effort are education and health. In that connection, Melcom will be supporting ten schools in three regions with improved water and sanitation facilities’’ he revealed.
‘’ It is a sad situation to observe that some of these schools don’t even have toilet facilities while others have those that are non-functional; and they range from primary through secondary to tertiary institutions’’ he added.

He also mentioned that some deprived communities would also be assisted with bore holes for the supply of high quality water for healthy living.
He further assured the youth base of Ghana that there will be the creation of a scholarship scheme for entrepreneurial training.

‘’Melcom at 30 anniversary will also benefit our teeming youth through the creation of a new scholarship scheme for entrepreneurial training at one of Ghana’s renowned universities as our additional contribution to the development of relevant skills set for better employment opportunities’’ he stated.
