Chris Hughton, gaffer for the Ghanaian national football team, the Black Stars, has called up left-back Fatawu Hamidu to replace injured Baba Abdul Rahman. Baba suffered an injury during Ghana’s hard-fought 2-1 victory against the Central African Republic on Thursday.

The injury occurred in the second half of the match when he bravely went in for a sliding tackle to thwart an opposition attack.

After receiving immediate medical attention on the field, it became apparent that Baba Abdul Rahman would not be able to continue, and he was subsequently substituted.

Fatawu Hamidu, the left-back for Medeama SC, has been selected to fill the void.

Fatawu Hamidu has been in remarkable form for his club, leading them to the 2022 Ghana Premier league title and Super cup.

Ghana will host Liberia on Tuesday in a friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium.
