Medeama SC defender, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu, has reunited with the Black Stars squad in anticipation of their upcoming friendly match against the United States of America, HappySports can exclusively report.
Hamidu was the sole local player selected to join the Black Stars for the friendly encounters against Mexico and the USA. Unfortunately, he missed the game against Mexico’s El Tri due to his participation in the Capital City Cup match between Medeama and DC United, which saw the Ghanaian champions face a 2-1 defeat at Audi Field.
The Yellow and Mauves requested Hamidu’s release for the game against DC United, a request granted by the Ghana Football Association. Now, Hamidu has reconnected with the Black Stars as they prepare for their upcoming clash against the USA in Nashville.
The former Accra Lions player is scheduled to train with the Black Stars team on Monday in readiness for their game against the United States. Hamidu made his debut for Ghana just last month in a friendly match where he impressed during the 3-0 victory against Liberia.
After experiencing a 2-0 defeat to Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, the Black Stars are determined to make a swift return to victory. These international friendlies serve as important preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
