Former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as undertaking restructuring in its leadership.

According to him, the recent change in the party’s parliamentary leadership is not something which should be interrogated by the media or any such body as there are no meanings in there.

“We need to be honest with ourselves. The NDC is a political party and at any point in time they can change leadership. They have only decided to re-strategize and restructure, and for me there is no big deal about it. With due respect I will not criticize the NDC for choosing to change its parliamentary leadership. I am a matured and a discerning politician and I won’t buy into that. The NDC is a political party with 137 MPs and they can take a decision on their own anytime. They decided to change their party leadership and we don’t need to drag this through the media,” he told Don Kwabena Prah on Happy 98.9 FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ political talk show.

To him, the NDC has does not need to give reasons to anyone before changing their leaders.

There is a major shake-up in the Minority leadership in Parliament.

The current leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been changed on all fronts.

According to the party, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has taken over from Haruna Iddrisu as the new Minority Leader.

Some NDC legislators who are unhappy with the situation are already describing the development as a “coup d’etat”.
Ellembelle MP, Kofi Armah Boah will replace James Klutse Avedzi as Deputy Minority Leader.
