The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Abigail Elorm Mensah, has pledged to intensify efforts to recover all outstanding debts owed to the institution.
According to her, this initiative is aimed at ensuring the availability of funds to support deserving applicants and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Speaking during an official handing-over ceremony, on Monday, February 17, she highlighted the importance of debt recovery in sustaining MASLOC’s operations and fulfilling its mandate.
With the centre’s total debt recovery currently standing at 51%, she underscored the need to close the gap by reclaiming funds that have been lost over the years.
She noted that, her vision also includes implementing strategic measures to improve MASLOC’s financial position, enabling it to better serve entrepreneurs and businesses across the country.
This she said will strengthen MASLOC’s capacity to provide financial assistance to SMEs and individuals who rely on the institution to grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
