Martin Kpebu tackles Martin Amidu for instigating Kissi Agyabeng’s impeachment as Special Prosecutor

Vacant seats: Justice Ernest Gaewu is an NPP member and shouldn't have been on the Supreme Court panel

Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu says Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyabeng has done a good job in his office and should not be impeached.

An impeachment petition has been filed at the office of the President by former Special Proescutor Martin Amidu seeking for the removal of Kissi Agyabeng from office on alleged procurement breaches in the purchase of vehicles for the Office and abuses involving judges and the administration of justice.

The petition seeking to remove Kissi Agyabeng as Special Prosecutor has been forwarded by President Akufo-Addo to the Chief Justice but Martin Kpebu insists that, is not necessary.

“We have not gotten there yet, therefore it was unnecessary for the former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, to take that tandem. It’s good to criticize him, but to have him impeached is wrong.”.

“It’s not fair; generally, he has done well as Special Prosecutor. Kissi is independent-minded and very outspoken. He is the personification of integrity so why have him impeached if he is doing the right thing,” he said on Adom FM.
