Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah is MP-Elect for Techiman South after re-collation

Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, has retained his Techiman South parliamentary seat following a court-mandated re-collation of election results at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regional office in Accra.

The re-collation was ordered after disputes over the initial results of the constituency, which had become a contentious issue during the 2024 elections. Allegations of irregularities led the court to mandate a review to ensure fairness and transparency.

The re-collation process, conducted under tight security, confirmed Korsah’s victory with 46,663 votes. His main opponent, Christopher Beyere Baasongti of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), secured 43,429 votes.

The Techiman South re-collation is part of broader efforts by the EC to resolve disputes in constituencies where election results were challenged.

Post-election tensions in Techiman South had heightened, with both the NPP and NDC claiming victory. The court’s directive to re-collate votes was viewed as a pivotal step towaryd addressing the impasse.

Korsah’s confirmed win strengthens the NPP’s position in the 2024 parliamentary elections, adding to the party’s growing list of successes.
