A young Ghanaian man who prefers to remain anonymous, has disclosed he wanted to commit suicide due to lack of money.
According to him, his inability to provide for his three siblings after the death of their parent has left him broken and contemplating suicide.
In an interview with Rev. Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9FM’s Boneka Edition of NsemPii, he said, “I wanted to commit suicide yesterday but for some reason I just stopped. One of my siblings just gained admission into Senior High School but I’ve been unable to follow up because I don’t have the money.”
The depressed young man believes the decision to take his life will save him from seeing his young sibling from suffering.
“I had to drop out of school to take care of my siblings. I’m now trying to learn a trade and make something out of myself but it is still very difficult for me. We sometimes find it difficult to eat and it hurts me so much to see my siblings suffer,” he emphasized.
Tired of living this kind of life, he feels the only way out is suicide.
Reassuring and talking him out of suicide, the Nsem Pii team pledged to help him and ensure his sibling receives the education he deserves.
