The Majority Caucus in Parliament has undertaken a significant reshuffle in its leadership following the appointment of Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as the Minister of Finance. Dr. Forson’s transition from his former role as Majority Leader necessitated the changes to ensure continuity and strengthen the leadership team.
Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has been appointed the new Majority Leader, succeeding Dr. Forson. Kweku George Ricketts-Hagan, the MP for Cape Coast South, will serve as the Deputy Majority Leader.
Additionally, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for South Dayi, has been named the new Majority Chief Whip, replacing Governs Agbodza. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, MP for Ada Constituency, takes over as First Deputy Whip, while Richard Acheampong, MP for Bia East, assumes the role of Second Deputy Majority Whip.
The reshuffle is designed to bolster the team’s effectiveness in advancing the Majority Caucus’ legislative and governance agenda. The newly appointed leaders are expected to enhance coordination and drive the group’s priorities in Parliament.
